Making Friends in the Big City

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

There are so many people in New York City. I know I can’t meet everybody, but sampling Honest Tea and Honest Ade in the streets, in the offices and in the stores is a great way to connect with at least some of those 8.5 million New Yorkers. And though they probably won’t remember me, they do remember the face of organic goodness in a bottle, Honest Tea. How do I know? Because I continue to hear some familiar lines. “Do I know you from some where?” “You look awfully familiar.” “Certified Organic, huh?” “High in anti-oxidants. That’s good for me right?” “Low in Sugar. That’s just what I’m looking for.” “You know what, my, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, brother, sister, roommate, colleague, or best friend drinks Honest Tea. I’ve never tried it though.” Well guess what New York, today is your lucky day. Check out these lucky lads and lasses taking sips, gulps and chugs of Honest Tea.

And those cool cats in winter hats at the Veterans Day Parade.

That’s like… 10 down. 8,499,980 to go. So far, so good.

Trick or Tea

Friday, November 9th, 2007

West Hollywood was ablaze with guys, girls and everything in between on Wednesday night when Honest Tea dropped by to say “Trick or Treat.” Most took the treat of an ice cold Honest Tea although a few requested trick and we had no idea what to do, we’re treat people!

Thursday brought us to CBS Studios where we sampled tea to all the actors, cast and crew who came by the Television City Café that afternoon. Happy studio lunch goers were treated to Honest Tea taste tests and were able to test the hype and put our product to the test. (Hint: we passed with flying colors) We even got to catch the Plinko game (Price is Right) up close and personal and yes, we can definitely say we were star struck. On Friday we visited the set of Rules of Engagement to make sure David Spade and the rest of the cast were hydrated and ready to rehearse next week’s show. While there, we were sidetracked by the behind the scenes crew of Step Brothers, and we learned that John C. Reilly, yes that guy, and Will Ferrell were both avid Honest Tea drinkers.

We then dropped by The Cobrasnake’s office to make sure his fridge was stocked and then booked it up to Pismo Beach and down to Orange County to spread the Honest Tea love. We hit up the Pismo beach pier and navigated through the fog to make sure all the beach walkers had bottles. We also hit the Los Osos Skate Park, to take care of some thirsty bowl skaters. Down south, we cruised Main Beach in Laguna Beach and Main Street in Huntingdon, making sure SoCal walkers beat the heat with tea and ade.

Running Scared in New York

Monday, November 5th, 2007

The Honest Tea-m was right in the thick of two of New York’s biggest attractions this week.

On Wednesday, October 31st, we joined the ghosts, the ghouls and the cool at the 34th Annual Village Halloween Parade. As parade watchers waited for larger than life skeletons and a live rendition of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, we whetted their taste buds with bottles of Honest Tea and Honest Ade. No tricks here. Just treating

New York’s best costumed to a little organic goodness. The only nightmare was for anyone attempting to drive cross-town. Your best bet was a bottle of Honest Tea and a little walking… …or running. That was the preference of 38,000 this Sunday, November 4th, at the New York City Marathon. The Honest Tea-m arrived nice and early to secure a spot in

Central Park, right at the 26 mile marker. Bottles of Honest Tea and Honest Ade were welcomed by fans, who were getting thirsty just watching the runners go by. We sampled so many people… And were so close to the action… I’d call Honest Tea “The Unofficial Sponsor of the New York City Marathon”. Maybe next year, I will be sampling and running. Now that’s a scary thought.

Honest is a Shoe-In in SoCal

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Honest Tea had a fantastic still-feels-like-summer week in SoCal. On Thursday, we co-sponsored a party with our good friends at TOMS Shoes for their Artist Designed Launch Party at Fred Segal in Hollywood. Many tea fans came out that night to sip some tea and get their photos taken by the one and only Cobrasnake. (Scroll down and see party pics here)

This weekend was back to the beach where you might have seen us in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Santa Monica, or Laguna Beach. No, those aren’t just reality shows, they do exist in real life. And yes, the weather in SoCal is that nice in October where we all still hang out at the beach.

And on Sunday, we brought Honest Tea and Ade to thirsty supporters of Habitat for Humanity, a foundation that builds and provides housing for those in need. We posted up near the main gate and made sure everyone who walked in had a cold drink in their hand.

Honest Ade in Charge at the Head of the Charles Regatta

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Remember that show “Charles In Charge” with that dreamboat Scott Baio? Remember his best friend, Buddy? Well. This past weekend in Cambridge, Mass, The HEAD OF THE CHARLES was in charge, and the best buddy was HONEST ADE. As the crowd of spectators filed through Harvard Square to Memorial Drive to catch a glimpse of the nation’s biggest rowing event, our CREW handed out bottles of thirst quenching POMEGRANATE BLUE and ORANGE MANGO on both the Port and Starboard sides of our trusty barrel cooler.Special shout out to:

The Brians (Howard and Daigle),

The Ladies of the Lesley College Crew Team,

The Boys of the Binghamton Crew Team,

 HAHVAHD Girl,

and the ladies in the convertible who needed directions but got HONEST ADE instead. They may have been lost, but they weren’t thirsty.

And last but certainly not least. I would like to give a big HONEST shout out to THE CHARLES.

Honest Tea: Transforming Refreshment in SoCal

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

This week was another crazy week for Honest Tea in Southern California. First, we kicked off the week with the Transformers DVD Release at Paramount Pictures Studio.

We then headed down to Temecula, yeah Temecula, for the Henry’s Marketplace block party and grand opening. We had a blast and made sure everyone had plenty of Honest Tea and Honest Ade to go around.

Later in the week, we hit the Hermosa Beach Pier to hookup thirsty locals and tourists with some drinks. We continued along with our beach theme as the weather held up nicely Saturday morning in Venice Beach. Armed with plenty of Honest Tea, ice and some coolers, we were able to quench the thirst of hundreds of beach-goers with that oh-so-tasty tea. Nothing compliments sunny Vitamin D intake like an ice cold Pomegranate Blue Honest Ade. We even set up the first ever Honest Tea Ollie Contest. A couple young skaters and even a rollerblader (kids still rollerblade?) ollied over a stack of bottles so we hooked them up with plenty of free drinks.

Sunday, we helped out at the LA AIDS Walk refreshment station and provided drinks for over 700 walkers. What an awesome event! We not only had a dance party in the street with the DJ next to us, but we danced and handed out tea for a great cause.

QuickChek Balloon Fest - July 29th and 30th

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

We had an awesome weekend at the balloon fest in NJ. There were more people than we imagined - over 150,000 people! Our booth was non stop excitement and buzz. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and sampled Honest Tea. Hope those of you who participated in our cap game are enjoying the tee shirts and hats. You had great shots!

My highlight was when Dan said that I was going up in a balloon. Truthfully, I was nervous! Wind and thunderstorms started which didn’t help my nerves. Our pilot finally decided we weren’t going to risk it “like the rest of these Yahoos out here!” Guess I’ll have to wait until next year. One of the best events was raffling off a Jamis mountain bike off and delivering it to the winning entry’s house. They opened the door, and were ecstatic to see their new bike. Let us know if you stopped by the booth. We’d like to hear your stories…..Next year will be even bigger and better! - D.B.
