You will find a stamped date code on the bottleneck of all Honest Tea and Honest Ade products. This code indicates the "best by date" and where the product was manufactured. Your code will look like:
BESTBY MTHDDYYPS
CT# TIME STAMP XX |
"MTHDDYY" is the date. For example, something like "AUG1810" obviously means that the product is best by August 18, 2010. The "PS" is an abbreviation for the production facility where the bottle was filled. The "CT#" is another code for the production facility.
After the "TIME STAMP" (on our PET tea bottles only) we have "XX" which is an abbreviation of the product's name. For example, "LB" would stand for "Lemon Black" and "MG" would be for "Mango Green."
Glass bottles have an 18-month shelf life from the date stamped on the bottle. Plastic bottles have a 1 year shelf life. There is no danger to drinking a bottle beyond its shelf life (heck, TeaEO Seth Goldman has been known to crack open a "vintage" bottle from the late 90's). But we do believe that our products taste best within these guidelines.
