All’s Fair in Tea And Sugar

27-1

Using Fair Trade Certified™ ingredients has always been a priority for us, so we’re thrilled to announce we are transitioning all of our organic cane sugar to organic, Fair Trade Certified™ cane sugar!

We’ve been committed to using Fair Trade ingredients in our products since 2003 with the launch of Peach Oo-La-Long, the first bottled tea to ever use Fair Trade Certified™ tea leaves. Since then, we’ve expanded our use of Fair Trade ingredients even further: we transitioned all of our organic tea leaves to Fair Trade Certified™ in 2011 and have been gradually incorporating organic, Fair Trade sugar across many of our product lines since 2014.

Fair Trade USA reinvests the premiums from purchases of organic cane sugar made by Honest Tea in community healthcare services, farming equipment, and schools as designated by Honest Tea’s current sourcing community partners in Paraguay.

Now, with the conversion of our teas sold in plastic bottles to Fair Trade sugar, we’re proud to say that all of our organic tea leaves and sugar will be Fair Trade Certified™. The labels for these teas will be updated, and you should see the change roll out in the coming weeks!

  1. Sorry i don't hv instagram, but i'm a 2x daily drinker along with my kids, and we can't get enough of the pomegranate one, along with the green tea!

  2. Sorry to hear about honest kids not being organic anymore. Not to many good things out there for kids to drink. Why are you going to plastic bottles and what kind of plastic will you be using? I do love your teas glad it's fairtrade and happy for sugar change!
    Thanks

    1. Hi, Katalin. Good news! Honest Kids has always been and will remain organic. In terms of our iced teas, we gave both glass and plastic bottles. All of our bottles are recyclable!

  3. There seems to still be some debate regarding whether the sugar you are using is truly certified fair trade. I have gone to the Fair Trade USA website and looked up "sugar" and their partners. Sadly, your company's name is NOT listed. There seems to be an error on someone's part….

    1. Thanks for the heads up, Brooke. We recently converted all of our organic cane sugar to Fair Trade certified organic cane sugar. Here's a blog talking a bit more about it: http://bit.ly/1MkQ5Lm.

  4. Here is the link to Fair Trade USA that is not showing your comany's name.

  5. I found some Honest Ginger Lemonade at a Big Lots in my area. I bought almost every jar! Very delicious. Came to your website to purchase more but they are not listed as a product. What's the deal?

    1. Thanks for reaching out! Our Ginger Lemonade is a seasonal item and unfortunately we won't be bringing it back this year. Very much appreciate your kind words about it though!
