Have you ever finished a product and then become frozen with the fear, wondering what you’re supposed to do with the package? Perhaps you go through a mental checklist asking: Is this material recyclable? Does my town accept this type of package in its facilities? What do I do with the cap? Should I peel off the label or leave it on? We know that recycling can reduce a product’s environmental impact, but the ins and outs of doing it correctly isn’t always clear
In that split moment, standing in front of the recycling bin, a gut decision is made to either:
1) Recycle and hope you are doing the right thing, or
2) Throw it in the regular trashcan because you’re too worried about making a mistake.
That’s why we’re excited to partner with How2Recycle to put easy to read instructions on all of our packaging. No more guessing—just clear, concise information. Take a look at this sample graphic for our HONEST Kids Family Size bottle to show how the label is organized.

Honest Tea plans to place the How2Recycle graphic onto all of our packages. Our Honest Kids cartons and 59 fl. oz multi-serve bottles will be the first to include the easy to read graphic on the packaging—look for it on shelves near you soon.
This is just one of the ways we’re working to increase the average recycling rate past 35% in the United States*. For more information on Honest Tea’s commitment to recycling and our Great Recycle initiative, click HERE.
