Recipe: Pomegranate-Ginger Fizz

Certain ingredient combinations are well-known for their complementary flavors: peanut butter and jelly, chocolate and mint, buffalo wings and blue cheese. After trying this pomegranate-ginger fizz, you might just want to add pomegranate and ginger to that list of culinary couples. Who knew that tart pomegranates and spicy ginger were so perfect together? They bring out the best in one another, and you’re bound to fall in love.

This cocktail makes the most of cool-weather ingredients without heavy spices. Instead, the pomegranate juice and our brand new Pomegranate-Blue Flavored Herbal Tea offer a brightness to the drink, grounded with a zesty ginger infusion and topped off with a bit of organic ginger ale for a bubbly kick.

Pomegranate-ginger syrup

  • 1/2 cup 100% pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 cup organic granulated sugar
  • 2 thumb-size pieces of ginger, cut into 1/4” slices

Per Drink:

  • 2 ounces organic Pomegranate-Blue Herbal Honest Tea
  • Splash of ginger ale to taste
  • Ice
  • Pomegranate arils, for garnish

Make the pomegranate-ginger syrup: combine pomegranate juice with granulated sugar in small saucepan over low heat and whisk until sugar is dissolved. Raise heat to high and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add sliced ginger. Cover and steep for 30 minutes, then strain liquid through a fine-mesh strainer into a glass jar and cool completely.

To make the cocktail: combine 1 ounce of pomegranate-ginger syrup, 2 ounces Pomegranate-Blue Herbal Honest Tea, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously then strain over ice.  Top off with ginger ale to taste, and serve with pomegranate arils for garnish.

For those 21 and over and are looking for something with a little more kick, try adding a 1.5 oz. shot of Vodka.

Pomegranate-ginger syrup will make approximately 4-5 cocktails.
