Happy November! Our annual mission report is out and we are delighted to share it with you. While we’re proud of the strides we’ve made, we also make a special effort to ensure our report does not become a cheerleading document–though there has been progress on our environmental and community impact, we also discuss some of the areas where we have more work to be done. Look for our Real Talk sections throughout the report to see where we still have work to do.
While it’s good to evaluate our mission-related efforts, it’s also healthy to compare notes with other mission-driven companies. I recently returned from Austin where I participated in my first Conscious Capitalism CEO conference. It was a great opportunity to learn from CEOs of new and established companies from ranging from Whole Foods to The Container Store to InstaCart about how changes in technology and consumer trends are rippling through our economy. It’s an exciting time to be building a fair trade organic brand!
